Stone Soup!

Over the years, I have learned that making railroad prototype modeler (RPM) meets successful is very much like the challenges encountered in that old folk story of stone soup.  Strangers come to a village, with nothing but an empty pot and boiling water, but if they can convince villagers to share and add any of their food into the soup, the soup becomes more nutritious and tasty every time another villager contributes.  Finally, a delicious and nourishing pot of soup is enjoyed by all.

And such as it is with BAPM – The San Francisco Bay Area Prototype Modelers Meet.  The organizers supply a venue, and modelers from all over Northern California and far beyond (sometimes even from overseas!) bring all sorts of interesting models to share with fellow modelers.  In addition, model railroad manufacturers and hobby shops help support the meet by providing a wonderful array of raffle prizes to be won. Beyond the incredible models to admire and learn from, there are no contests, nor judging/ranking of models. Instead, the intent is to provide a great environment to meet other modelers and share modeling techniques so that we all can be better modelers on our next projects.   It is safe to say that after every BAPM, many of us are inspired to move forward with our existing projects with greater fervor!

Mark your calendars for Saturday June 16 for BAPM 2018!!  Bring your Models, Bring your Friends!!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Cheers,
Your Friendly BAPM Crew
